I don’t bite my nails…

…but i bite the skin around them. :/ it’s a habit i picked up out of no where around 1 year ago. Seriously have no idea how i suddenly got this habit and it irks me cos I do it unknowingly, and so does the bf! When i start biting, I will smack him instead cos he would be doing the same thing too. ._.

I love painting my nails and i’ve bought quite a few OPI / China Glaze polishes. Mostly dark colors though, and shimmery ones. ….. And i end up with yellowish nails cos I keep on wearing dark colors. Bah.

It’s a never ending cycle, nails look plain, paint nails dark color, nails get yellow and looks plain without color again, and so it repeats all over again. -_-

Needed to let my nails breathe + i had a chipped nail, so I looked for a desperate solution in Watsons and picked up Sally Hansen’s acrylic top coat. I decided it would be too plain and, heeding Lynette’s recommendation, got a Canmake glittery one too.

Fwah the result was…… I like! : x Someone asked me if it was fake.

Easy to put on. I layered the glitter on around 2-3 coats, then swept the acrylic top coat over it. AND THE ACRYLIC TOP COAT DRIES DAMN FAST. I like the fast drying time loads, but removal is a pain in the ass. Glitter alone is a struggle to remove, what’s more with an acrylic top coat! The base coat is very very important. Makes removing everything easier. Be careful not to layer it on too thick though, it may bubble and crack.

Here’s one more pic of the same pattern i did with a bottle of Maquillage polish Shiseido gave me when i did a job for them, was fine yellow glitter on a light yellow tinted base:

Had to put on a layer of pink polish first, then layered on the fine yellow glitter polish. I think it’s a very fine effect and would probably look better with the canmake one’s layered on top!

I’m itching to buy more polishes again after reading through Scrangie’s reviews of some wonderful glittery/shimmery OPI polish – but you know more or less they are the same colors i would wear, ‘cept for the difference in shade and glitter. :/ I’ll wait till I’m back from Japan then! Have my eyes on the limited OPI blue color only avail in Japan.
