Freshlook ColorBlends – Brilliant Blue Contacts
As most of you already know, I’m in this FreshLook competion vying to be the “Next Big Thing”. And as a finalist, they are giving me 2 pairs of colored contacts. Any colors I want.
Since I’ve tried most of the colors when i was younger anyway, I picked the newer colors lah. The new colors they have in are:
Gemstone Green
Sterling Grey
Brilliant Blue
And I picked Sterling Grey + Brilliant Blue. Was gonna leave for Tokyo, and the nice folks at Ciba Vision gave me my contacts early. : D Yay new colors to match my new hair for the trip!
So today i went out to collect the contacts from Ciba Vision.
I think i’m supposed to do a write up, but i’m not sure what i’m supposed to write about but since i’m so excited about the colors anyway, I’ll just write something by myself lah! Okay someone just called me and told me I have to do a write up while i was in the middle of writing this.
Anyway. I came home and immediately i took off my brown ones and put on the blue ones!

This is a pair of FreshLooks Colorblends contacts, in the shade “Brilliant Blue”.
The blue doesn’t really match my hair’s shade of blue, It would have been better with my blonde fringe but OMG! It’s absolutely gorgeous lah! I know it looks a little stark and unnatural (got people’s eyes so blue one ah) but i think it’s a really great attention grabbing color. It looks totally awesome on Xiaxue.
I would totally use this color if i were ever cosplaying as a blue eyed character.
And oh, it makes my eyes look bigger than the brown ones. See:

The boyfriend scrutinized me and said it looks natural. I think so too! Being a long time contact lens wearer, I know that some colored contacts can be quite uncomfortable. Esp those in the older days. But this is quite easy on the eyes, and it doesn’t block my vision like how the others did. Just to play safe though, since i’ll be in cold cold 5-degree Tokyo, i should be dripping eye drops pretty often just so it’ll be more comfortable for my eyes.

Blog the sterling gray. I personally like it because I think grays give you a playful look. lol. I bet it looks good on you.
Blog or bought? :p I wore the grey one, but i still prefer blue! Perhaps cos of my hair color, the blue is fading and the grey + grey makes me look old ._.

It could be that the photos read the color quite differently, especially since I had blue / black hair too. It is really quite a bright blue, closest to the third last pic of this post. You liking it so far? : )

yes, I like the brilliant blue so much! i also have black hair/medium fair skin tone. so it stands out a lot. but sometimes it looks true sapphire on pictures.
You took the pictures with flash? I guess flash can really make them pop out (a little too much) I love it more than true sapphire though! : D much more intense a color. Black/Blue hair is awesome to go with these lenses.
Hey, just right off, what IS your natural eye color? I have dark hazel colored eyes, and I want mine to be as pretty as yours! =(
my natural eye color is very dark brown (in sunlight) or black. I’m asian and i have very dark hair and eyes! : D
yes, I took some pictures with flash. and it pops out a lot!! it is still visible without flash but not as brilliant when you use flash.
I’m an asian too. my hair is black, my skintone is fair, and my eyes is dark brown almost black (you cant see the brown color in my eye unless the sun will shine through)
My girlfriend has the same “configuration” (black hair, fair skin) too! They really pop out on her eyes.

Hello! I have dark brown / almost black eyes!
It depends on your hair color? Right now my hair color is a bit green / brown, so I tend to use brown (pure hazel, honey, brown) lenses / green (gemstone green / green) / grey (sterling grey/grey) lenses.
When my hair is blue, purple or black, I prefer brown (colorblends honey is a very attractive color, or you can go for brown which is a bit dark), purple, brilliant blue!
Grey is a very neutral color to me, but not all will like how the color looks like so do google around! Sterling grey is very attractive too, it really stands out like brilliant blue, honey, and gemstone green. They’re the brighter colors of Freshlook lenses so if subtlety is not your thing, go for these colors!
If you have black/dark brown hair, really, anything goes : D
