Picture Polish Festival (Flakie) vs Nubar 2010 vs Cult Nails Clairvoyant

Everyone’s coming up with flakies recently but they’re still pretty rare as compared to say, Shatter polishes. Which is everywhere now and frankly, I’m not really a fan of shatter polishes.

But flakies… *heart goes thump-thump*

I fell in love with Nubar 2010 and it was … my precioussssss. In fact I got myself an extra bottle just for backups. LOL!

Then Picture Polish came out with Festival (multi color flakies) and it looks pretty different from Nubar 2010, which was more gold / orange flakies.

Picture Polish Festival, 1 coat // Nubar 2010, 1 coat over a black base.

Now the most glaring difference is that Festival’s flakies are very sparse – 3 coats of it equals to 1 coat of Nubar 2010 in terms of flakies landing on the nails.

And then I realized that… Hey this REMINDS ME OF CLAIRVOYANT.

Cult Nails Clairvoyant, Picture Polish Festival and Nubar 2010.

Despite the light purple jelly base, there wasn’t much color change on the black nail (but that was like 1-2 coats only so the difference really isn’t much.) Again, the concentration of flakies in Clairvoyant seem to outnumber those in PP’s Festival.

Otherwise, this is a very nice polish to have! If you like a subtle opalescent sheen on your nails, this would be nice. Or layered over a very distracting base.

If you intend to layer it over colors and appreciate the beauty of it fully, you’ll probably want to get Cult Nails’ Clairvoyant which is an exact dupe, but awesomer and not as sheer (since you can layer it as it has a light purple jelly base). PP’s not thaaaaaaaat cheap too.

Picture Polish has more flakies, in Hypnotic (more blue based) and Splendour which looks like a dupe for Nubar 2010 (gold/green).

You can now get Picture Polish & Ozotics locally (Singapore), from The Subtle Shimmer and Cult Nails from Meimei’s Signatures. Alternatively, you can also spree from Picture Polish’s Official Site (but be prepared for the hefty shipping!)
