I’ve heard of Cure’s Natural Aqua Gel since a long time ago (it’s been 4 years since it has launched in Singapore), but I’ve never expect it to be 10 years old!
If you guys haven’t heard of it… The Cure Natural Aqua Gel, from Japan, is a gentle exfoliator which sloughs off your dead skin without any harsh exfoliating beads. It is made of 90% water (revitalized hydrogen water), and natural plant extracts from aloe vera, gingko and rosemary. It also doesn’t contain any preservatives (which explains the 1 year use-by date!), fragrance, artificial coloring and alcohol.
How it works – Pump out a suitable amount onto your dry palms and apply to dry skin. The Cure Natural Aqua Gel reacts with only the dead skin on your face, and after some 30 seconds of massaging, you can see milky white particles forming (dead skin!), which can be easily washed off with water (it left me with a really silky smooth face (feel so happy touching it) and is so gentle that you can use it daily, or even twice in a row! After your face is cleared of dead skin cells, it absorbs your regular skin care products better, and using it often helps to regularize skin turnover.
If the above description sounds familiar, I know – It’s very much like Ginvera’s Marvel Gel. Compared to it, the Cure Natural Aqua Gel is less viscous, and at $42 for 250g pump bottle, not only is it much more value for money, it also has a much more convenient pump dispenser (as compared to a screw cap squeeze tube) and can be kept for up to 1 whole year! The size is so generous that at the rate I’m using, I’ll probably take more than one year to finish it for sure – so I ended up using this on some dry spots of my body too (yes, you can use it on your body!)!
I guess there are quite a few videos (on youtube) which shows how it works, but the one that left an impression on me was one by Xiaxue in one of her Guide To Life episodes where she did a comparison between a plastic board and her own skin to show that it only reacts to dead skin. Fast forward the to 7:40 for her view on it!
To celebrate their 10th year anniversary, CURE is giving out a set of the Cure Natural Aqual Gel (Full sized!) and CURE Water Treatment Skin Cream to one reader of my blog!
Cure’s Water Treatment Skin Cream is actually a not-for-sale product – it’s only given to it’s employees and cannot be purchased anywhere! This cream actually feels more like a lightweight gel, which has activated hydrogen and harmless silicones to seal in the moisture. I think the recommended usage for this is on your hands (the tube is quite small) as it contains parabens, which some may not want to use on their face (depends on individual!). This product should also not be used when you have a cut, inflammation or irritation of any kind.
Oh the left you have my dry and parched hands, and on the right my hand’s visibly smoother and moisturized (the lines are not as prominent as the one in the left picture)! I love using this on my hands as I change my nail polish pretty often, which leaves me with rather dry fingers.
Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/PEG-10/15Cross Polymer, Sodium Chloride, Methylparaben, Sodium Citrate, Glycosyl Trehalose, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate.
