I was invited by YSL to try out and learn their Signature eye looks – Parisian, Couture, Tuxedo and I was glad to have Francis, their make up artist, teach me how the Couture look is achieved on my eye shape over at their boutique in ION Orchard, #B2 (near Fancl and Uniqlo).
This make over was done before I attended an event, so really, thank you very much YSL Singapore, for the little makeover and helping me look all presentable!
YSL’s Signature Eye Looks – Couture
Step by Step on YSL's Signature Eye Look, Couture
Before starting, my face was already prepped with the necessary – I used YSL’s Natural Light Creator series of skin care, followed by a BB Base to color correct. Thereafter, Francis corrected my redness and flaws with a few Touche Éclat pens and then applied the foundation, the Le Teint Touche Éclat gently with a brush.
Francis took out two eye palettes from their Pure Chromatics range, which can be used both wet and dry!
He picked 9 and 20 – we didn’t use all the colors, but probably 2-3 from each palette?
Apply mascara – I believe we used the Volume Effet Faux Cils Waterproof – that mascara is amazing! No flaking, no smudging, and all that volume! (see the first picture on the post?!)
And that, is the Signature Eye Look, Couture!
For the lips – we paired the heavy eye make up with a nude lip color. Francis started off by lining my lips with YSL’s lip liner in Rose, and then applied YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture in 6 Rose Bergamasque.
We finished off by using Blushers in 01 and 02 to give my face more color, and also to define it a little more.
I really like this eye look because I could get my eyes to look more 3D and longer without having to wing it out with a dramatic black eyeliner – instead, all the eyeshadow did the contouring to give me more deep set eyes, and I love how this look made my eyes stand out even more!
After Francis’ demo of how to draw my eyebrows, I’ve been using a stiff angled brush to draw my eyebrows too, and I find that it looks much better than using the brushes from the eyebrow palettes! More defined, especially since my eyebrows hasn’t seen a professional since forever and are a little uneven on both sides – I’m trying to grow them out so that I can get them shaped better!
If you are curious about YSL’s 3 Signature Eye Looks, do take a look at the 3 videos on their website / youtube! I’m hoping to learn the Tuxedo eyes soon, because I have no idea how to adapt it over from the video!
Thank you once again, YSL!
