Launched quite a while back, Lancome’s Khôl Hypnôse Waterproof had me eagerly anticipating its arrival. I love, love love Lancome’s Plume Liner – it’s so easy to draw, and I had great expectations for their latest eyeliner, especially since Lancome’s one of my favorite make up brands!
Of course, the Khol Hypnose WP is a different category altogether (Plume Liner’s a liquid eyeliner with a felt tip), but I’d hope to love this as much as the Plume Liner, especially when it says “WATERPROOF”! (The Plume Liner isn’t waterproof).
The pencils come in 01 Noir (Black) and 02 Brun (Brown), and personally, I seem to keep reaching for Brun these days – it’s a nice dark brown shade (not quite black, but not overly brown either), and gives you a softer look in comparison to Noir. Brun is great for days when you are wearing a light/neutral eye look, or none at all.
So the first thing I did was to do a water test after swatching. Guess what? NOTHING BUDGED. NADA. IMPRESSED! *thumbs up + big grin*
Not demonstrated here, but I find this to be quite alright for tightlining, especially since it has a creamy formula and goes on like a dream!
In short, this eyeliner is:
- Creamy; easy to draw
- Portable (easy to carry out)
- No need to sharpen
- Suitable for tight-lining
I think it’s a pretty worthy purchase – this is perfect even for people who like drawing winged eyeliner, as the pencil actually comes with a sharpener at the end, which is neatly concealed. It may not be as easy as liquid eyeliner (have you tried Plume liner? It’s a dream to draw on, but it’s not WP, sigh), but this is no doubt one of the most budge proof eyeliner I’ve ever tried, and well worth perfecting your eyeliner skills for.
Lancôme’s Khôl Hypnôse Waterproof retails at $36 SGD.
