Happy New Nude Year, you guys!

I know right, it’s been so long since I’ve blogged beauty. It’s a little late, but these products are pretty evergreen, and it’s probably one of my favorite Sephora loot to date!

Packed with products to make you look all primed and glowing… presenting:

#SEPHORANUDEACTION

Saying that I’ve received a ton of stuff in my mail is an understatement – everything looked so interesting that I couldn’t wait to try everything out! (I practically made myself go out everyday just so that I can put some makeup on, hahaha)

A box of Burberry Makeup - containing their latest Fresh Glow primer, Face Contour and Burberry Kisses Sheer lipsticks which are exclusive to Sephora ION!

The Radiance Enhancing Pro Prime Light Optmizing Primer comes in white and contains a very sheer and fine amount of shimmer.

The Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (in Alaska 02) was runny and seems to be best applied with fingers! I tried using a brush and it didn’t give me as much coverage as using fingers. This comes with SPF 30PA+++ and the combination of both the primer and this tinted moisturizer made it feel like there were too much on my skin – I had to tissue blot it before applying powder.

NARS’ radiant creamy concealer is one of my favorite – especially Custard, because it’s perfect for my under eye circles. It spreads extremely well as it’s pretty emollient.

They may look pretty yellow on my arm but it works extremely well at correcting the redness on my face! I guess this was an acceptable shade for me – I’m pretty amazed by the shade selection by the Sephora marketing team! So far it’s been spot on!sephora-singapore-nude-action-jan-2016-evonnz-25

After a month or so of trying out all these products, I’ve naturally selected a few favorites – basically things that I’ve been reaching out for very often the past month, and that would be the Burberry Face Contour Pen, the Sephora eyeshadow palette and the NARS concealer in Custard!

The colors on the eyeshadows are too pretty to be missed, and blends so well on my eye socket – it defines my eye area well, and doesn’t easily end up making anyone looking like a racoon. Basically it’s an easy to use, everyday palette. Score!

Burberry’s Face Contour Pen is just SO easy to use on the go. You don’t need a brush when you’re on the go – just this pen, and your fingers. You can contour your nose bridge easily with this, and in fact can be used on the eyes as well! Here’s a video from Burberry for demonstration:

The NARS powder and the creamy radiant concealer have been favorites of mine since I’ve come across them, so no surprises or new notes there. I’ll be back soon with more updates on the latest cushion foundations that have been popping up EVERYWHERE… Till then!

Curél BB Cream – Thoughts, Swatches + Before & After

By | Base, CC Cream, Make Up | No Comments
{ sponsored post }

O hai!

It’s been a long time since I did a beauty review, isn’t it? I’ve got a lot planned in my to-do list that’s upcoming, so let’s start with this first!

Well, I’ve been having sensitive skin and break-outs for the longest time ever. It was after much reading and researching on sensitive skin and breakouts that I’ve realized that in order to have great skin, you have to take care of your skin’s moisture barrier!

Your skin has a natural moisture barrier – when it’s compromised, your skin will lose moisture, be more prone to breakouts and more sensitive due to the compromised barrier not being able to protect skin against external irritation! Recently, I’ve been paying more attention to skincare products – frequently choosing those that have a lower, or neutral Ph value, as your skin’s acid mantle is usually more acidic (around 4.5), as well as contain ingredients like hyaluronic acid, and ceramide.

Speaking of ceramide – did you know that Ceramides are natural lipids? They hold your skin cells together, forming skin’s natural barrier function, thus preventing moisture loss and protecting skin against external irritants. A reduction in ceramide is often the cause of dehydrated & sensitive skin.

for more information, refer to this page!

for more information, refer to this page! Hence, it is especially crucial for those with sensitive skin to use products with ceramide!

So why not also try out a makeup product that also gives you great skincare benefits?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Say “Hi” to Curél’s BB Cream!

This Japanese gem, which comes in a little pink 35g tube promises to strengthen your skin’s barrier function against external irritants with Curél’s moisture-retaining ceramide care!

On top of having SPF28++, this specially formulated, non-sticky BB Cream has a light yet moisturizing texture, and is said to cover imperfections like rough patches a sensitive skin person might suffer from.

It’s hypoallergenic – fragrance, alcohol free, non-comedogenic, and a non-chemical formula – clinically tested on, and formulated for sensitive skin!

It’s already quite trying for sensitive-skin people to find skincare that don’t break them out – what’s even better is using makeup that won’t clog your pores and aids in strengthening your moisture barrier! Hooray for all the sensitive-skin people out there!

// About the color of the BB Cream

It comes in 2 shades, Natural, and Brightening.

I was initially concerned as I’ve come across many BB / CC creams which were too grey or pink for my skin tone – if you have sensitive skin, you would have red patches around the nose, chin (or whichever affected areas) and using a pink-toned bb cream would just accentuate it even more.

I didn’t have anything to worry about, as Curél’s BB Cream in the Brightening shade was a perfect match for my NW20 skintone! Natural wasn’t too far off, but just a tad darker. So if you’re usually around shade NW25 or 30, you can probably try this, or just mix if you’re in between shades. ;)

// Tips on Application

I’ve tried various methods, like:

Using Fingers -I do sometimes use this method, but some BB creams are drier and you end up with bits that feel like dead skin flakes – however, the Curél BB Cream is pretty moisturizing, so that doesn’t happen! Still, I would prefer to keep my fingers clean by using other methods. Typically, I would use fingers if I’m overseas or don’t have a brush nearby.

Sponge – A sponge can give a really natural finish, but it also absorbs a LOT of product. It is quite a pain to wash sponges, so I’ll try to use sponges lesser if I can.

A Brush – By far my favorite method, as it’s the quickest! Curél BB Cream comes in a tube, so I’ll typically squeeze blobs onto my face directly or onto a clean hand and just use the brush to buff the product in! It also provides a little more coverage than the sponge method, and a more even finish than using fingers.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

// Before & After

As said, I suffer from sensitive skin. I have red patches on the areas around my nose, my chin, past pimple breakouts and I even actually have a patch of rough skin (a sensitive reaction to a very strong toner, unfortunately).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Note how the BB Cream covers up the general redness of my skin! I had to go over with concealer again for some parts like stubborn red spots, and under my eyes, but Curél BB Cream generally offers very good coverage!

Full face done, with concealer on as well!

Base is done with Curel BB cream & concealer – in less than 5 minutes!

I took less than 5 minutes to get it all done – Curél BB Cream is so easy to apply, and doesn’t leave any weird patches on the skin!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here, I am done with full face make up – I did not use any highlighter, the glow comes naturally from my hydrated skin! The BB Cream actually provides light-medium coverage to me – you can apply a 2nd layer if you need more coverage, but I personally think that a concealer would be better if you only have small areas to tend to.

Tried it out for the whole day in Penang, and it’s pretty long-lasting – of cos it can fade off a little if you perspire too much, but my face wasn’t overly oily and still looked pretty good at the 3-hour mark and 5-hour mark – and you know how hot I was feeling in Penang!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Curél BB Cream will be available in Singapore from August 2015, and retails at S$24.80 for a 35g tube in selected Guardian & Watsons stores!

If you’re interested to try it out for yourself before buying, you can redeem a Curél BB Cream sample from here!

Basic Makeup Routine [ Dec 2014 ]

By | Base, beauty, Blush, Concealer, eyeliner, Eyes, Face, Make Up | No Comments

Every time I see a question that goes along the lines of “if you could only use one make up product what would you use?” I roll my eyes.

Honey, unless you’re EXTREMELY BLESSED, you’ll need at least 2 things to look good. Or in my case, 7.

This is my basic make up routine. I need to finish all these points before I can feel ready to face the world:

  1. Base – Concealer & Foundation
  2. Contour
  3. Brows
  4. Eyeliner
  5. Blush
  6. Mascara
  7. Lips (this one I sometimes only do it when I get to the car heh)

I know, that’s actually a LOT. But miss one out and I’ll feel incomplete and awkward throughout the day! Thats why I have an emergency kit in the car for touch ups or when I forget something while rushing out.

Sharing with you guys my most often reached for products and faves for all these steps!

{ Concealer & Foundation }

I can’t go without this. I can skip base, but concealer is though especially since it takes some time for the acne scars to fade away. Doesn’t help that I popped a huge zit out on my chin recently…

So suffice to say, I'm a huge fan of concealers. My favorites here are for EITHER the under eye or the scars - it's very hard for me to find something that can work on both my zits/PIH AND my undereye because they require different tones.

So suffice to say, I’m a huge fan of concealers. My favorites here are for EITHER the under eye or the scars – it’s very hard for me to find something that can work on both my zits/PIH AND my undereye because they require different tones.

  • YSL Touche Eclat 2.5 (color corrects my under eye area)
  • Amazing Concealer in Light Golden (best for my under eye)
  • Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer in 2 (for spots)
  • Lancome Le Correcteur Pro in 200 W Buff (a comprehensive kit for the under eye with a corrector AND concealer AND seetting powder)
  • Make Up For Ever Full Cover in 4 (awesome for spots cos it matches my skin tone 100%)
  • Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer (waterproof!!! long lasting)
  • Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marc)able Concealer in shade 3 Young
  • Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer (02 to correct under eye and 04 to conceal!)

The Kevyn Aucoin one is by far one of my favorites as it’s really multipurpose -it contains honey and jojoba oil, and can go from sheer to full coverage by simply mixing it with moisturizer or using it on its own. It completely covers my spots AND under eye concealer and it’s the only one that can do that – however, I need to mix both shade 02 and 04 to get a proper match as a foundation. So that’s a bummer as it’s 38 pounds EACH.

Before & After concealing. In here, I used: MJB Re(marc)able for the PIH marks, MUFE Full Cover for the zit and Amazing Concealer for the under eye.

Before & After concealing + base (Laneige BB Cushion). In here, I used: MJB Re(marc)able for the PIH marks and redness, MUFE Full Cover for the zit and Amazing Concealer for the under eye.

These days I’ve been reaching out for cushions more often as I’m lazy to wash brushes – and the Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control has been my favorite to reach out for! I love how it doesn’t leave me too shiny, and the color seems to be better than the non Pore Control one so… yup. My choice these days! I usually apply concealer beneath bb cushion, and if I’m using liquid foundation, concealer comes later.

{ Contour }

The Laneige BB Cushion does leave me a little flat and whiter than usual, so contouring is a must. Actually I’ve been becoming a bigger fan of contouring after trying out Charlotte Tilbury’s contour and highlight palette and bought quite a few to try!

  • Suratt Artistique Blush in Aureole (highlighter) and Grisalle (the darker taupe for contouring)

{ Brows }

Previously I didn’t see the need for eyebrow embroidery but after I’ve done it, I realized that it helps keep my brow shape in check and also makes it easier to draw! I still fill out my brows but on the days that I have no make up on, it still looks better than before I did embroidery.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Some of my favorite brow products – my brow products are always changing due to my hair color changes. These days I have dark hair so I do try to go a bit darker… but not overly dark, lah.

  • Tarte The Brow Architect (double ended – sword cut on one end and a brush on the other which I find most useful!)
  • Shu Uemura Hard Formula Brow Pencil in Walnut (I use Seal Grey more often)
  • Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow in Light / Medium (has a mascara brush)
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe (used with a brush)

Here’s a little gif animation of how I draw my brows:

{ Eyeliner }

Ahhh another favorite! Eyeliner colors makes my heart skip a beat more than eyeshadow colors sometimes, haha! But for a basic, clean look, these are what I like to use:

My army of go-to black and browns

My army of go-to black and browns

  • Bobbi Brown Pot Eyeliner
  • Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner in Black Amethyst (it’s a pencil on one end and a smuder on the other)
  • M.A.C Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline (this one is LE Prabal Gurung Collection)
  • Charlotte Tilbury Rock & Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Barbarella Brown
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Demolition (brown) / Zero (black)
  • Heroine Make Impact Frame Eyeliner
  • Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner
  • Heroine Make Liquid Eyeliner

It was really hard to pick a favorite – Charlotte Tilbury wins for how easy it is to glide across the lid even after almost a year, and how long lasting it is for me – there’s another one I love even more, it’s from  THREE but it has glitter spam in it so I don’t like to use it on the rims of my eye. Then again, eyeliner doesn’t usually smudge on me (even if it does it’s a negligible bit).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

These days I like using pencils more as my eyes look different without lenses (after doing ReLEx SMILE, a kind of LASIK) and I tend to line the rims of my eyes more. On the days I don’t feel like it, I use liquid liners! Eyeko Eyedo has a fat flexible nib which is super easy to control, so it goes into my favorites list!

{ Mascara }

When I don’t have my eyelash extensions on, I use mascara. And oh how I LOVE mascaras! Unfortunately I go through them VERY quickly (replace every 3-4 months) so I don’t have a compilation to show you, but my favorites are:

  • Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara (SUPER waterproof)
  • Tarte Lights, Camera Flashes Mascara (Love how buildable it is!)
  • Lancome Le Extreme Waterproof (My first love)
  • Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara (Great Volume!)
  • Make Up For Ever Aqua Smoky Lash Mascara
Without Mascara (but curled)

{ Lips }

My lips… are extremely troublesome! Although it’s pretty thick, it’s darkened on the upper lip and always cracking at the bottom lip. -_-” And that’s why I usually favor lipbalms with color because they make me look less poisoned or like a smoker. (I don’t smoke!)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

  • Korres Lip Butter in Quince
  • Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm
  • Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Balm (mini)
  • Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 52 Fetiche
  • Ettusais Lip Essence (melty bar) (no color but SUPER moisturizing!)

I love lip balms that don’t detach easily and FRESH is like a double confirm because of the screw cap! This mini is from their holiday collection and it’s SOOOO CUTE!!! And portable too! The Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Lip Balm can be used on the cheeks BUT i never do that. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 54 Fetiche is not a balm, but pretty moisturizing and the color is different from a tint AND suit me perfectly. I love it on me.

A FOTD to end the post – this was just before my gigantic pimple popped out. T_T I’m sorry, I won’t eat cheesecake anymore!

Introducing Laura Mercier’s Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation

By | Base, beauty, Make Up | 2 Comments

This is quite possibly my favorite part of blogging – trying out new products before launch dates, and sharing something I like with y’all!

In the beginning of 2014, my skin was bad, breaking out, and nothing could help it (it seemed at that point of time). I begun trying to find foundations that would give me great coverage and oil control, and one of them was Laura Mercier’s Silk Creme foundation, which I’ve reviewed previously.

I had nearly 3 weeks to try out this foundation and during the 3 weeks, my skin did a 180-degree change as  I was on retinoids and using a glycolic facial wash – from oily-combi skin, I’ve become normal – dry with flaking skin… in short, I tried this foundation out on both combi-oily and normal-dry skin statuses, which means a more accurate review.

First impression:
Why is the name so long one huh? Haha. You might get even more confused as Laura Mercier offers a HUGE range of base make up to suit every skin type and every color tone, as they are known for creating flawless canvases – but this is what my blog post is for, to run you through their latest product!

Not to be confused with Smooth Finish Foundation Powder (which has super oil controlling properties), Laura Mercier’s latest Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation is an oil-free liquid-to-powder foundation which promises you a smooth, natural finish to last you the whole day! It dries demi-matte instead of horrifically matte to the point that it is unnatural.

(Recently, I chuckled when a male friend mentioned that he thinks a girl has great skin because she has a very matte face. Boy, that is something you call “too much make up”.)

Suitable for all skin types as it os oil-free, it is considerably less matte than the silk creme foundation, and looks more natural than the smooth finish powder. This might be my favorite foundation out of all that Laura Mercier offers!

laura-mercier-flawless-fluid-foundation-5-shake

It is housed in a plastic bottle with a gold cap, which exposes a dropper tip. Before using, you _have_ to shake the bottle vigorously to mix it well and activate fresh color as it is a bi-phase formula, free of binding agents so that the color payoff stays true and doesn’t oxidize on you – something very much welcomed!

Colour true pigments rest at the bottom of the package while reflective waters (Hydro-Brilliant Technology) float to the top. Vigorously shaking the package before each use ensures the pigments blend with the reflective waters to create fresh colour every time.”

The foundation retails at $75 SGD for 30ml in Singapore, and comes in 24 shades – but only 10 selected shades, suited for Asian skin tones, are available here in Singapore:

laura-mercier-flawless-fluid-foundation-12

  • Cremevery fair with neutral undertones
  • Vanillevery fair with neutral/slightly warm undertones
  • Ivoryvery fair with warm undertones
  • Ecrulight with cool undertones
  • Cashewlight with neutral/slightly warm undertones
  • Linen – light with neutral/slightly cool undertones
  • Macadamia – light with warm undertones
  • Buff – light-medium with cool undertones
  • Dusk – light-medium with neutral/slightly cool undertones
  • Chaimedium with warm undertones

laura-mercier-flawless-fluid-foundation-1

If there’s one thing I dislike about the foundation, it’s actually… the packaging. I heard that the sample I got isn’t quite the final product yet, but when you unscrew the cap after shaking it with your life the product bubbles and oozes out like it has a life of it’s own – the Laura Mercier website tells you how to avoid this – “with each use shake vigorously for a minimum of 10 seconds and tap several times at the end of the package by the shade label.” I’ve tried this out on 3 bottles and I found it to work for me! Please remember to open it with the cap facing up.

Remember Laura Mercier’s 4 step philosophy to a flawless face? I find myself automatically reaching out for the same items like clockwork because it has been so ingrained into my routine!

Step 1: PRIME

This foundation doesn’t have spf properties, so you have to get your sunscreen on first before applying the foundation – I use LM’s Foundation Primer Protect, which comes with SPF 30 PA+++.

Laura Mercier's Foundation Primer Protect with SPF 30PA+++

Laura Mercier’s Foundation Primer Protect with SPF 30PA+++

Step 2: FOUNDATION

Application wise, I ran into a few stumbling blocks when I didn’t read before trying it out – all I can say is, don’t use a buffer brush.

Laura Mercier recommends that the foundation should be dispensed onto back of hand, and then pick up and apply to clean skin with Laura’s Foundation Sponge or fingertips.

I realized that the Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation sets pretty quickly (turning from liquid to powder), so it is best to work on a small area at a time, blending fast with either a damp sponge or a flat foundation brush, which I prefer for quick application, THEN I blend out with a damp sponge for the most natural finish!

It seems that I have gotten fairer, and my shade match is between Creme and Ivory – as you can see, Creme tends to be a little fairer for me but it is closer to my skin tone than Ivory and I could always contour a little and it would look natural, or I could mix it with half part ivory to get the best match. I like doing this actually – we are living in Singapore after all and sometimes when you get a little tanner you could always switch around the mixing ratio for a better shade match.

with/without foundation, no concealer

with/without foundation, no concealer – yes my skin is THAT red.

Note: If you have dry skin, it might emphasize the flakiness as the foundation has no oil, and it’s liquid to powder formula – prior to make up, you should exfoliate gently with a warm, damp muslin cloth after washing your face to get rid of excess dead skin and don’t forget to provide some hydration – it is recommended to use the foundation primer – hydrating before foundation application!

Step 3: CONCEAL

Coverage is buildable, from medium – heavy – I still needed to conceal a little after using a light layer, but with the right shade, it did majority of the concealing work for me! That’s a huge plus for me!

This set of pictures were taken after my skin turned to normal-dry skin type.

I have pretty flushed (red) skin, so I have to use a yellow-based foundation and concealer to cancel out the redness, taking extra care to conceal around the nose and blemishes. It is important to know your undertone and match your foundation to your neck instead of basing it on what your bare face looks like. I would have looked like a tomato if I were to pick a pink-based foundation.

Full face with Creme, before contouring / applying other make up on.

Full face with Creme, some  concealing before contouring / applying other make up on.

And this is the finished look with my simple game face on! Concealer, Eyebrows, Eyeliner, Eyeshadow, Mascara, Lipgloss, light blusher and some lip balm! Do you want great oil control but hate overly matte foundations? Then this is the foundation for you!

Step 4: SET

As you know, the foundation dries demi-matte, and I dust a little bit of Laura Mercier’s loose setting powder over it so that it lasts longer. Laura Mercier’s loose powder contains little or no pigments so it doesn’t alter the color of the foundation on you!

laura-mercier-flawless-fluid-foundation-9

So how does it perform in terms of oil control? I find that it’s still best to blot after some time – this after photo was taken at 10pm, a good 10 hours after application WITHOUT any touch ups or blotting. My face used to start oiling up at the 2nd hour, but recently it’s been able to stay matte till the 5th hour mark, so looking like this (pic below) at 10pm is pretty reasonable to me!

After 10 hours of wear!

After 10 hours of wear!

Before my skin became normal-dry, the foundation did perform pretty well for oily-combi skin and was pretty good at oil control, although the maximum benefits could be achieved if you touched up at the 3rd hour mark with their Smooth Finish Powder to extend the matteness of the skin, especially if you have extremely oily skin. I always feel that it’s important to blot and touch up instead of relying on the make up to last on your face forever, no matter the promises!

It’s not just me who loves it…

Sometimes I feel that it’s not enough just having my statement alone, because everyone has different skintype, different skintones and react differently so who am I to say that this is the best foundation for you?

My friends share the same thought and I always keep that in mind when dishing out advise or recommending foundations, and I’m quite sure that they’ll find something they like at LM! We were actually planning to go shopping for foundation, and to my delight, Laura Mercier Singapore kindly held a little counter party of sorts for my friends to try the foundation out and receive a color matching consultation by the LM make up artists!

My 4 girlfriends were given a quick make over by Laura Mercier make up artists, and one of them was so sold on LM products that she purchased the kit in Sephora right after the session!lm-tangs-counter-party

We spent an entire afternoon together, and I had them report back to me about their foundation shades and whether it oxidized at the end of the day – the answer was a resounding “No!”

Miya has translucent, beautiful skin too, and got a little tanner during a recent holiday so she was matched to Laura Mercier's Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide in Macadamia and Eddie used the SPF primer beneath it.

Zhiyun has great skin, but could use with some radiance as she is naturally fair but yellow based - primer radiance was used on her, and her Flawless Fluide match was "Ivory"!

She has oily/combi skin, so finishing off with setting powder was necessary for her! Felicia has the most sensitive skin out of all of us and found that Flawless Fluide did not cause her to react in anyway.

4 Steps to a Flawless Face with Laura Mercier (Part 2 – Light – Medium Coverage for already good skin)

By | Base, beauty, Concealer, FOTD, Make Up | One Comment

I wasn’t gonna disappear when I said I’ll show you part 2 – if you still remember my part 1 / routine 1, which was for oily skin / matte finish, this time round I’m back with something for people with normal, good skin (lucky you!).

So to begin, here’s what I use for routine 2, when I’m out for a short while or when my skin’s feeling a little better and less oily.

Routine 2:
(You don’t need to use everything, they can be mixed / swapped)

  • Foundation Primer Protect (contains SPF 30) / Foundation Primer Oil-free
  • Tinted Moisturizer (skip this if you have SUPER DUPER good skin)
  • Secret Camouflage in SC-4 & High Coverage Concealer for Under Eye in #2
  • Secret Brightening Powder in #1
  • Smooth Finish Foundation Powder (optional / can swap with translucent loose setting powder)
  • Loose Setting Powder in Translucent (optional / can swap with smooth finish foundation powder)

Note:

If you have super duper good skin, you can actually get away with just the foundation primer + tinted moisturizer + loose setting powder.

For slightly more coverage, foundation primer + smooth finish foundation powder is sufficient because the smooth finish powder has pretty good coverage and can be used wet for more opacity!

Here are some arm swatches of the shades available and offered at Laura Mercier Singapore’s counters!

Now you know what I mean about Laura Mercier’s products being super customizable no matter what skin type or tone you are… let’s move on to my face of the day with LM products!

You start first with a primer, of course! It preps the perfect canvas for make up. I'm using oil-free SPF 20 version, but if you don't have oily skin you can opt for the original spf 20, or if you have dull skin, try out the illuminating primer!

The tinted moisturizer is what it sounds like - it's a very lightweight, moisturizing foundation with sheer finish. it doesn't offer much coverage for blemishes, but it does evens out your skintone!

And now it's time for concealing! I conceal before using any powder(s) to set my make up and the High Coverage Concealer gets my vote for being such a miracle for my dark under eye circles.

I'm going for higher coverage, so I'm using primer + tinted moisturizer + smooth finish powder!

I really, really like the smooth finish powder. It’s in a compact form and comes with a super soft sponge – super easy to bring along wherever you’re going for touch ups! I like how it gives me velvety smooth skin after using it and the powder’s just so fine – it does give me some oil control, and the fine powder creates a diffused finish which gives you a really soft look.

You can use it wet too – simply mist your sponge and swipe it through the compact! This gives you more coverage than just using it dry, which is great if you’re having a little blemish trouble that day.

Do spend some time swatching/matching a shade suitable for your skin though – it is best to have try on your face for at least 2 hours, because I realize that it does oxidize on me after 2 hours so I picked a lighter shade.

I use it as a setting/finishing powder, but if you think it’s too heavy or too much coverage (I’m presuming you have super good skin), then go ahead and replace it with the translucent loose setting powder!

And after some make up…
