I didn’t mean to be so late with the Holiday Collection, but right after my trip I went for eye surgery and I hadn’t expected such a long down time – I can work, but at a much slower speed as my vision is still rather blurry (it’s normal!) and it sort of differs day to day. Couple that with jet lag of sorts that was exacerbated by the amount of sleep I had to clock during my surgery / when I couldn’t see well (what is there to do but sleep? haha) and there you go – I’m extremely late!
But better late than never, they say!
Yesterday saw me going for the first event post ReLEx SMILE vision correction surgery – for Urban Decay’s Holiday 2014 showcase at Sephora ION’s launchpad – their showcase will be there for the next 3 weeks, so you still have time to grab the limited edition Vice3 palette (2000 pieces only in Singapore) – you will be entitled to a travel gift set with min $100 purchase and also some freebies at the counter (while stocks last!). And don’t forget your 10% loyalty discount with your Sephora Black Card!

The event kicked off with a makeup demo by UD Singapore Makeup Artist, Maz, on how to quickly achieve alluring eyes with Urban Decay’s Holiday 2014 items – using Tornado from the Black Magic 24/7 Eyeliner set, she first drew a thick eyeliner on Melissa’s face, and then smudged it out with the very useful brush from Naked Basics 2 which had a short bristled end, perfect for smudging! She then patted Heroine over the dark purple base created with the eyeliner and finished it off by using Naked Illuminated powder on the inner corner of Melissa’s eyes!

I’ve always loved Maz’s work, and she definitely gave me some ideas on how to use the products from the collection!
After the make up demo, Maz revealed the upcoming lipstick treasure chest from Urban Decay – Full Frontal Lipstick Stash, which will be launching on 12th Nov at $60 SGD!

The limited edition Full Frontal Lipstick Stash set contains 6 Revolution Lip colors (3 totally brand new) and a full-sized 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Ozone, which is a clear lip liner that helps to set lipstick as well as prevent bleeding / feathering! The lipstick colors featured in the set are: Ladyflower, Gash, Crush, Liar, F-Bomb & Illicit.
One of the highlights of the event was watching an online acquaintance turned friend, Dem, doing his graffiti magic on an Urban Decay canvas right in front of me – I thought it couldn’t be more befitting because of UD’s image – plus, I’m all for supporting local art talents!

The 1.8 x 1.8m tall Canvas was painted entirely by him in his studio, and he finished it off at the event with some touch ups and the marking of the UD symbol right in the middle of it. It was really nice to meet his pretty and equally creative (her origami skills are like level 100) fiancée, Rae! Follow Adam and his wonderful works on instagram at @dem0365!
Okay let’s go back to Urban Decay’s Holiday 2014 collection and swatches!

Urban Decay Holiday 2014 Lineup:
- VICE3 Palette, $88 SGD
- Shadow Box, $52 SGD
- Naked Basics 2, $45 SGD
- Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Body & Face, $43 SGD
- Black Magic 24/7 Pencil Eyeliner Set, $60 SGD
Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette

The Urban Decay Vice3 is the third Vice Palette (I feel silly typing this already) which is released every year. I remember fondly the queue for the first one… and whenever there’s a queue for Urban Decay things it’s always good and comes with loads of goodies as an appreciation to the fans (for example, for Naked3’s launch the first 3 in the queue got a Naked Vault each!)
This year’s palette is sleeker, thinner, and comes with a complimentary pouch which can fit an iPad mini!

Sorry about the dings in the eyeshadows hahaha I’ve swatched them before I realized that my shots taken before swatching didn’t quite cut it. I love, love love this palette! I think it’s got a great mixture of everything in it – from mattes, to metallics, cool colors, warm colors and it’s basically a palette which I will REALLY bring overseas with me. Just this one palette!
I don’t know how UD does it, but every Vice palette contain never-seen-before shades, and these are excellent! Great color payoff and as usual, good formulation and texture for this palette. I even told my friend what a waste it was that she didn’t want to get it because she had the other palettes. I’m telling you, Felicia – you’re missing out! Hahaha.
(swatches are done from bottom up, by columns)

Urban Decay Shadow Box

The Urban Decay Shadow box contains 12 popular colors from UD’s collection and I guess it does pale out if you’re already getting Vice3, but this palette’s selection is really pretty goo and the casing as well! At $52, it’s a great set if you’re new to Urban Decay shadows – or as a gift for the girlfriend who doesn’t own anything from Urban Decay yet!

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

The Naked Basics 2 palette comes after the great success of Naked Basics 1, which was well loved (very well loved by me actually, I keep reaching for it). This time, we see a much more subdued, and less contrasting selection in the palette – still super easy to use for newbies and people who are just starting out with eyeshadows! And the brush that comes with it is really useful cos of the short bristled end! I love using that to smudge out or apply colors more precisely nearer to my lash line. And it’s just $45 SGD, too.

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated

This Illuminating face and body powder’s super pretty and shiny – a quick dust gives you the glow you need for this holiday season. it comes with a brush at the bottom compartment of the box which i nearly forgot about *sheepish look*. That’s really useful though, because this baby is really full of glitter and you’d want a separate brush for this instead of using your blush brush!

It is almost too shimmery for the cheeks, but on the collarbones and shoulders it is fantastic! It serves well as a quick sweep across your lids too, or as Maz demonstrated at the event, used with a wet brush at the inner corner of your eyes. Aura is a beautiful shade, and worth looking into!

Urban Decay Black Magic 24/7 Eyeliner Set

My other favorite from UD’s holiday collection – Black Magic set contains 4 24/7 Double-ended eye pencils, which means you get 8 colors for just $60! I repeat, 8 eyeliner colors for just $60 SGD. One eyeliner pencil would cost you $32 SGD alone, so that’s like… $16 * 8 = $128 value in this set!
Each eyeliner pencil has 1 black shade and 1 colorful shade (I wouldn’t consider brown and grey very colorful but at least it’s not black-black), and Black Market and Tornado are also exclusive to this set! This means… you could get this set and keep that for yourself and gift the rest away, haha – I KNOW I’M KEEPING IT!

EOTD with Urban Decay’s Holiday Products
It was only natural for me to don a colorful dress and match it with a colorful eye look using Urban Decay’s colors from the Vice3 palette, of course!
In this look:
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Black Velvet as base eyeliner and LSD & Tornado applied over it.
- Shadows used: Bondage, Alchemy, Revolver

I took this photo a few good hours after the event so it’s smudged a bit as I had to push my lids quite often to drip eye drops. So sorry about the smudging!
Paired off with a dress I picked out from Love, Bonito specially for this event – the Zalita printed dress!

I initially wanted to alter this dress shorter but I’m glad I didn’t, because I think the length keeps it really elegant! The material is comfy and the prints are beautiful (and designed in-house at Love, Bonito so you wouldn’t find the print used anywhere else). In case anyone’s interested, I wear Size S for this.
Thanks, Love, Bonito team for this! <3
