Unexpected finds in Marina Square

By | Clothes, Fashion, OOTD, Shoes, Shopping | No Comments

It’s June. You know that that means?
(Other than June holidays for the kids in Singapore)

It’s everyone’s favourite time of the year  – THE GREAT SINGAPORE SALE!

I think at one period of my time I was really thinking of just not shopping the entire year and spending all my money in June. But obviously that did not happen – I simply spent more every June because of all the irresistible deals. T_T

With all the online shopping making things so convenient, I think people go out lesser these days, right?

I enjoy going out and shopping actually – because my work is home-based, this gives me a chance to put on some makeup, get human interaction and actually have some physical exercise! The beauty of shopping (physically) – uncovering the good deals and bringing them home physically (and immediately) gives me a great sense of satisfaction! You can definitely find treasure if you look hard enough (or know where to look) and I just did that at Marina Square – and boy did I go home with a huge smile on my face :D (my friends and hubby can attest to that haha)

My mission was to find OOTD worthy apparel in Marina Square. MS was really, really popular back in the days. In fact… I have an OOTD taken in Marina Square. ALL THE WAY BACK IN THE 1990’S!

Hehehehe check out my ridiculously green outfit. I even have a matching ribbon okay. And that flower. Obviously I was better at posing when I was young! The iconic MS steps are no longer around, as they're further developing and adding new wings to the mall. Memories!

Okay back to the main topic. So what can you expect, or should look out for in Marina Square for GSS this year?

The first label I stepped into was naturally something I couldn’t resist – SHOES.

Good news for all! Pazzion is extending an additional 10% off on sales items when you quote “EVONNZXMARINASQUARE” at the Marina Square outlet!

Thank you to the 2 friendly ladies in Pazzion who attended to me that day and patiently fulfilled all my shoe sizing requests!

The other shop which I went to, was one that has been on my radar for the longest time but not usually checked out. You’ll be surprised with what they have, cos I definitely was.

and it is… GEOX! Known for their comfort and breathable shoes – with a patented technology which places comfort before aesthetics, keeping your feet dry, comfortable and free from odours! I can’t seem to stop myself from looking at loafers. And THIS PAIR looks so good doesn’t it?! This is from the Drive Mox line, at $213! Was drawn to the fluoro ribbons instantly hahaha.

Top (S$39), Shorts (S$39) & Bag (S$33) from IORA, shoes from Pazzion!

Iora is located just beside Pazzion – they have some really nice tops and bottoms! This airy white one I picked was really comfortable for our weather, plus it has an inner lining (usually white tops are really sheer).

I have a thing for white tops (which is what you'll notice in a bit) cos white reflects light and makes my face look better hehehe.

I paired the skirt with a white top ($23) on a different day for a different look! You need a white shirt that has just the right amount of crisp – too soft and it’ll look overly casual. Levi’s has a lot of nice white shirts!

{ Sans & Sans Marina Square #02-342/343 }

Sans & Sans was a pleasant discovery for me too. They had plenty of soft silhouettes, dresses and work appropriate clothes which would definitely be a hit with the ladies! I love their shirts and the soft material used in many of their clothes, and the pleasing flowing lines of their skirts.

I didn't have enough time to try out the clothes for a fit, but I did pick out this set of accessories (THAT NECKLACE!) and later bagged home a gorgeous felt hat from Sans & Sans too!

OOTD: Love Bonito Covet Dacasia Graphic Tube Dress

What is this gorgeous print?! I know right, I was drawn to it the first time I saw it.

It goes perfectly with my silver/black heels from Jeffrey Campbell (from P.V.S. in Singapore) and my Proenza Schouler!

It goes perfectly with my silver/black Jeffrey Campbell Ashsky with Lucite heels (from P.V.S. in Singapore) and my Proenza Schouler!

Made of comfy neoprene material, this stretchy dress seems to run slightly large – given that I’m quite, uh, top heavy and this is size S *almost* slipping off me at times.  I say almost because it has a non-slip rubber lining the top edges of the dress. Size XS proves to be too small though!

The best part: This dress comes with pockets!

Outfit of the day:

Dress: Love, Bonito Covet Dacasia Graphic Tube Dress
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Ashsky
Bag: Proenza Schouler PS11 Mini Classic
Accessories: Butler & Wilson (necklace), Alexander McQueen (bangle)

Wore the dress to an 8 days event but I spent that half of it covering up with a LB jacket because it was simply too cold!

It was 8 Days Eat’s first party of 2015!

If you don’t know yet, that’s the popular food segment on 8 Days magazine which I’ve followed faithfully since my secondary school days for its unapologetically honest views on just about anything lifestyle. From how stars dress (admittedly before the gossip sites on the internet popped up, I looked forward to 8 days every week after Star Awards haha), to the quips from local celebrities and discovering new dining spots from 8 Days Eat section and the tales of Saffy & Amanda – I love every part of this magazine and am only happy to be there for 8 Days and my dear friend, Sue Jean!

And thank you, Nuffnang for securing seats for us and our friends and followers too! ; ) We all had a blast!

It was a waste that i didn’t get to try more of Kuvo’s great food – I would love to go back again some day for the prawn noodles! Kuvo is a lifestyle concept retail + restaurant brought to you by the TCC Group, located in a central location (Orchard Shopping Centre, 2nd floor) and opens till 1am! This is fantastic news because the movie-goers at Cineleisure finally have another dining option pre-movies, yay!

They serve fusion food, and you can find more promotions over at Kuvo’s facebook page (for example, they’re taking part in restaurant week – registration here)!

No event is complete with a FOTD to match the dress! Going simple these days and giving the Shu Uemura Lacque Supreme in PK01 all the attention it deserves! Love the vibrant pop of color. $40, out in all Shu Uemura stores / counters!

Face of the day:

OOTD: Warm/Cool ft. Love, Bonito’s Freja Romper

By | Clothes, Fashion, OOTD, Shoes | No Comments

So… this is my first of this kindda outfit post XD

You know how sometimes you just have a sudden urge to do something? Yep one of those moments for me, and wah, newfound respect for fashion bloggers – I think it’s so hard to come up with a random title for an outfit post and especially to think of different poses! AND EVEN HARDER TO GET A GOOD PHOTOGRAPHER. (A huge thank you to all my friends that have at one point or another been under my fussy orders to take countless photos for me or waited patiently for me hahaha)

I loved how stark the difference is for this set of photos because of the change in lighting and scenery, although they were all shot at 6+pm in the evening – managed to catch a bit of the setting sun ; ) Lucky us!

lovebonito-freja-romper-1

I got the romper in dark blue and it came with two pockets at the side – love pockets that are actually useful and also the fact the the “skort” portion doesn’t have the shorts showing through! I mean, if you make a romper like that… what’s the point of having the shorts inside showing through!?

lovebonito-freja-romper-3

lovebonito-freja-romper-2
It’s been about 1.5 weeks since I’ve done my hair blue (again) and I’m very, very, very much in love with my hair! I can always count on Gary’s attention to detail.

Hello, Shibuya Tokyo Fashion Show

LET THE SHOW BEGIN!

First up on the runway was mint designs from Japan, by duo Hokuto Katsui and Nao Yagi.

Would love to own one of their umbrellas!

Next up, homegrown talent with his eponymous label, max.tan! Love how fierce the designs were – black, red, and the leather. Take a look at this “shoes” – they were created by him by pulling stockings/socks over the models’ feet which had platform wedges on – and the platform wedges were held together by just a single strap.

And finally, the one I’ve been waiting for, ANREALAGE from Japan. The models strutted out in the dark, their clothes reflecting neons from the black light – just too gorgeous.

And guess who I bumped into?

DARLING ANNE! Was surprised and glad to see her but that was only at the end of the show – wish we could have been seated together! She was there to show support for the super shy and cute Max.Tan, who happens to be her ex school mate!

helloshibuyatokyo-singapore-catwalk-4

I’m not someone who’s particularly into fashion – not into bags, not entirely into brands, don’t keep up with what’s new and in season (I was wearing clothes fit for winter at the show, hahaa) nor have I written about fashion before, but I’ve always been fascinated by the modelling world – yes, much of it was because I wanted to be a model myself. But I was failed by my (lack of) height, I could only do editorial/print ads… I’d just caught Asia’s Next Top Model cycle 1 so you could imagine how hyped up I was when I was extended an invite to the show! All the long limbs, the gorgeous, flawless faces, and especially when the theme is about JAPAN – my favorite place to be holidaying at (I would live there if I could) – hearing the models converse in Japanese (some of them!) made me the happiest bee alive. I was buzzing around backstage… even though I’m not a model! *high from it all*

And of course, watching the fashion show. I was enthralled by models (jiggling boobs aside) and the perfect demeanor they displayed while sashaying down the catwalk, especially the ones on heels and high wedges!

Thank you, Shiseido Singapore, and Mercury for having me over with Moonberry, who has written an excellent post about some of the brands featured at the Hello, Shibuya Tokyo pop up store happening over at Plaza Singpura from now till 10th March. I cannot wait to visit it myself!

OOTD – Love & Bravery Jeggings

By | Clothes, Fashion, LOTD, Shopping | 4 Comments

If there’s one thing you _have_ to order/backorder/get/grab/steal from Love & Bravery… It’s their jeggings!

Jeggings are supposedly a mixture of leggings + jeans but basically, they’re just comfy, stretchy pants to me and I love how Love & Bravery’s jeggings don’t cut into my belly hahaha. The elastic band means that I can wear this even if i get slightly fatter or skinnier and that is what I like. plus, no camel toe! +1.

Shoes / Ninewest | Necklace / Butler & Wilson | Bracelets / Bottega & H&M + Twistbands | Rings / 3.V.0.7 & Butler & Wilson

I’m wearing size S, and this is just nice for me (minus the length, cos well, I am short. VERY short.) – there’s a function-able back pocket and mini front pocket for some loose change, but the main front pocket is actually just for show.

The top is also from Love & Bravery : ) It’s a little long for me, but I love it! I’m in this super nua mode and I like how this goes so well with the red jeggings.

Best of all? The jeggings aren’t as warm as jeans even in the sunny day time. Mega love! I’ve been raving about them to every one and eh, seriously, they’re only $19.90 and they come in so MANY colors!!!

I love it so much I got 2 more of these on top of the sponsored one, so in total, I have three! Yikes. Jeggings overload for a person who lives majority of her days in shorts haha. I’m honestly tempted to get moreeeeee. *slaps right hand*

The blue jeggings – was posted on my instagram a while back!
