Equilibrium at Capitol Piazza

By | Food, Fusion, Western | No Comments

“Supply + Demand = EQUILIBRIUM!”

That was the answer offered to me by Jacelyn, when I asked about how they came up with the name of the restaurant. And if the first part of the equation sounds familiar, it’s because Equilibrium, a new restaurant in Capitol Piazza, belongs to the Cre8group, which also owns Supply & Demand (Orchard Gateway/Esplanade), and another upcoming joint, The East Bureau (opening in September, at Marina Square)!

I’d like to think that it was fate that led me to have met the acquaintance of Jacelyn. I lost my engagement ring at Supply & Demand without knowing, and the honest people there actually kept it for me. I was forever grateful since! Of course there was a mutual friend who brought us to Supply & Demand in the first place lah, but you know, I paid for my food all the times I’ve been at Supply & Demand, so you know for sure that it’s nothing to do with sponsorship or anything. She didn’t even know that I blog till recently!

Equilibrium, Capitol Piazza Singapore #01-86

Equilibrium, Capitol Piazza Singapore #01-86

Equilibrium is located at Capitol Piazza’s Galleria Wing at #01-86 (Capitol Piazza has 2 wings) where plenty of restaurants/cafes are located (Dazzling, Angelina, 1933, Zakku) – if you feel lost, click here to access Capitol Piazza’s directory online.

I can’t put a finger to the furnishing style, but it’s somewhat similar to how Supply & Demand feels – warm and cozy, like home away from home, with loads of dark wood furnishing and plenty of green accents for this one. Plenty of cushions, too! (Which I heard they had to cut down on because space hahaha)

Right next to the entrance, there’s a drinking bar with a great variety of liquor for your bespoke cocktails if you wish, handcrafted by their passionate bar team! Bet this will keep you happy if you’re just looking to get imbibed – I reckon this will be an extremely hot tippling spot once the 6 star hotel right next to it opens!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There’s a second level to this place, as you would have noticed – stairs only access for now, but it’s really brightly lit (awesome for food photography and if you want to see your date’s face clearly) and spacious enough to hold around 16 pax comfortably!

I reckoned that since it’s a relatively new and uncrowded spot, it’ll be perfect for girly gatherings and arranged for some of my favorite girls to gather for Jayne’s belated birthday celebration!

Equilibrum's menu is encased in a wooden box of sorts - really heavy, but what a refreshing idea!

I was running a bit late due to a prolonged hair appointment, and when I arrived this was already on the table. I took a swig thinking it was tea, and realized it has vodka in it! The Sencha Apple, $17 is a "delightful conconction of sencha infused vodka, honey, apple sour liquer, fresh mint leaves and dehydrated apple slice". Had I not driven, I would probably finish this off! It tasted so yummy!

But since I drove, I had to settle for The Earl ($8) instead. A generous glass of iced Earl Grey Tea, mixed with a hint of rosemary, yuzu and syrup. I asked for it without syrup cos I like my tea that way, and it still tasted really nice! I think I love anything earl grey and yuzu basically XD

The girls were waiting for me to begin and I felt so bad holding them up! We quickly began with the starters… (man, wooden table + wooden tableware + canvas / rope. I’m sold on this place)

The Caesar with Salmon ($15) - classic caesar salad with sliced smoked salmon, crunchy romaine lettuce, garlic crostini, crispy bacon bits (!!!), shaved grana padano cheese with sous vide egg and homemade dressing on the side! I don't eat much salads so this really is the first time i've seen a salad served with dressing on the side, and with a sous vide egg yet! This one was so yummy, I could probably wipe the entire serving off myself!

"Pugliese grilled skewers of pork belly hand wrapped around a sinful mixture grated parmesan, oregano and chilli flakes, served with spicy garlic lemon dip." That's La Bombette - at $9.50 SGD per skewer and with a min of 2 per order, this costs as much as a main dish - and you know what? It was SO fantastic that I would gladly have had it as my main course!

Grilled Squid with Citrus Air, $15 SGD had us all wondering what exactly citrus air is. It came served to us as a plate squid done really well (it wasn't overcooked to the point of being too chewy nor was it undercooked slimy) frothing at the top hahaha. Served with Fennel Chilli & Mint butter, this one's a favorite of mine too - I really love my seafood!

It's a little filling, but the Panelle, $12 is an interesting dish - "Sicilian inspired crunchy fried fritters made frrom Gram Flour, paired with a vibrant cucumber salad and duo of sauces (mango chutney and spicy garlic aioli)! Gram flour is also known as chickpea flour, is widely used in south east asian cooking. My first experience with it... you'll fill up quickly if you eat too much of this, so make sure you have many friends to share it with!

We were practically stuffed at this point by the food that seemed to keep on coming – but the mains looked so good that we actually finished everything off (even though we had initially wanted to tapao some back for our other halves hahaha)

Oooooh this roasted chicken leg ($24 SGD). It's what a dream chicken meal is made of! I have no idea how they manage to roast it, but I know that the herb infused chicken leg is in actual fact, cooked a la sous vide (controlled temp cooking for a long period of time) and that's why it's so tender, juicy and also a little pink (it's not undercooked, just tends to be this way cos it's cooked sous vide). Also did I mention how much I loved the accompanying sauce , potatoes and sauteed vegetables? YUM!

My first taste of the Pork & Mushroom Aglio Olio ($19) was that it reminded me of... Ba Chor Mee. And as it turns out, that really was what inspired this dish! /shock Yes, they even use white wine vinegar to complete your western BCM experience. What a lovely dish - though I wished that they used a different kind of pasta instead of Ribbon Pasta so that it would taste less flour-y. Angel hair, perhaps? Nonetheless, we polished off this plate really quickly!

Whoa the runny egg in this one! Reminiscent of the fabulous pizzas served over at Supply & Demand, we all initially thought that you know, we wouldn't be able to finish the At Dusk Pizza ($27) because it's really quite huge - but as it turns out, it was so thin, and everything was so well balanced (how can you resist that runny egg yolk?) that we were only left with 3 slices at the end of the day. Tricia couldn't stop praising the pizza and reaching out for seconds!

I don't know what overcame us, but we ended up ordering hot tea to try to digest all the food we ate - I think we can blame it on the very inviting menu and EXTENSIVE selection of teas available! Chocolate mint?!

Oh boy, stuffed to the max! And the night only got more interesting as we were introduced to their very own pastry chef, Belinda, whose dedication to her craft and quirky ideas made me feel like she’s gonna be the next Janice Wong.

Meet Belinda, who just popped up with a birthday surprise for Jayne!

Meet Belinda, who popped up with a birthday surprise for Jayne!

We were expecting typical desserts really, but instead dessert time turned into a bit of a pastry lesson for us as we tried to understand Belinda’s creations on this wooden platter.

Guess what these are? The bunch of grapes and promegrande seeds you see were the only normal item on the wooden plate, made to look more like a meat platter than a dessert dish. Deli Dolce, $21 SGD. Next to it - Chocolate Salami, on the bottom left - Raspberry & Green Apple Prosciutto which felt like pulled jelly taffy, Whisky Caramel Jelly & Bacon Jam which was really heavy tasting, and the spam lookalike Milk Chocolate & Caramelized Onion Pate. As it turns out, Belinda is a pastry chef who... prefers savoury stuff. And hence the very interesting dessert dish! I'll still prefer sweet stuff anytime, but It's really fun to explore each and every bit with your girlfriends and watch their expression as they try it. XD

And these mounds you see, are actually compressed watermelon - served with milk cheese foam, and mint basil gel. Possibly the part that raised most eyebrows - just how did Belinda manage to get watermelon to look LIKE THAT and taste THAT GOOD? It didn't lose its flavor at all!

And we come to everyone’s favorite – Jayne’s birthday surprise!

As it turns out, if you celebrate a birthday there, Belinda would surprise you with a birthday creation – that would be either the mini baked alaska cake, or…

Hello, Panna Cotta Nascosto ($14 SGD). I savoured this without asking what it was and it was DELIGHTFUL! What you get is blood orange crushed ice sitting atop a bed of almond milk panna cotta, with cocoa water jelly seperating the two. It tasted nothing like the chinese almond jelly (you know, the ones at buffets...) you would have thought of - instead, every bite was delightful due to the different textures and taste layers. We gobbled this up in no time!

Huatians’ XMAS ’14 dinner at 49 Seats!

By | Food, Fusion, Western | No Comments

I don’t even remember how it started, but a group of me and my husband’s mutual friends are called the “Huatians”, because our group chat is called… “Huat Chat”. I think it was when everyone was still going “Huat ah!” for everything haha.

But anyway, I’ve enjoyed this group’s company even before we got married, and wow, it’s been a good 4-5 years! Christmas gatherings are no exceptions for this group and we crack our heads on where to go because this group is pretty huge. Quite fortunately for us, 49 Seats saved us by offering to host all 12 of us at their newly opened Orchard Central outlet!

(pic by Ron Lee. Thank you!)

49 Seat’s newest outlet, ironically, is much bigger than their Kreta Ayer one and has a total of 88 seats instead! And with the #08-08 unit number it’s like double the “huat”! But the tables, chairs, and the look from their main outlet has been kept very much the same here!

{ 49 Seats }

49 Seats has been around for some time and I know that the main outlet opens only after 6, but even I was surprised to learn that they open till 430am in the morning on Fri & Sat! That’s like another spot added to the list for people who feel munchy at night or need some place to get nosh post clubbing/pubbing!

Chicken Chop with Mushroom sauce was what I ordered, and I LOVE IT! Super yummy and the pasta went nicely with it too (I need carbs. CARBS)

I don’t usually eat chicken, but some how I felt like I could do with some chicken that day and I got the Chicken Chop with Mushroom sauce – I LOVED IT! Chicken was tender, the sauce was really good, and it was served with a serving of pasta at the side (yes yes me love carbs!).

What would a Huat Gathering be without our very first Huat Baby, Ardan Xu?

49-seats-ardan

He’s such a sweet tempered baby and allows everyone to carry him…. and he has such a nonchalant look on his face too. I sure hope he stays this way till he’s older XD

49-seats-huatchat-people

Every year we also do a secret santa gift exchange and it is quite possibly the most fun part of the christmas gathering > : D BECAUSE WE GET TO TROLL ON OTHERS. (Basically, secret santa means that whoever you’re buying for dont know that you’re his santa).

We gathered the gifts with name tags and… threw them into a garbage bag on the floor LOL. Damn winner, I know!

THIS IS ONE FINE TROLL GIFT. hahhahaa! Chat contents too explicit to share but it was really funny (for all of us!)

I mean, just check out everyone’s expressions while opening their gift, hoping that they wouldn’t get the best gift of the year – Han’s naked photo, all prettily decorated in a frame. D:

*drumrolls*

SHE GOT THE NAKED PHOTO!!!!

The photo was passed around the table and oh god, the looks we got from the entire restaurant... (I later zoomed in on my snaps and checked out people's expressions and eyes on the photo LOL)

Tadah - a Heineken beer tree! XD My gift to everyone was a can of beer! with a personalized tag, LOL. Since we couldn't find a hotel to hold it in time, why not let them enjoy it at the comfort of their own home? Haha. BTW, 49 Seats serves beer, and at really great prices too! You need to head to their FB to check out the promotions!

And thus concludes the dinner with my favorite company!

Disclaimer & Notice:

The dinner was sponsored thanks to the generous folks at 49 Seats (Thank you!), and we definitely could afford to pay for our dinner (it was our intention to, but things just fell into place).

A thought crept into my mind and you know what, it’s Christmas, I think I kena gongtao by the spirit of giving. haha. And that’s how I went around collecting money from everyone, and we decided to donate the lump sum to a beneficiary 49 Seats picks!

We raised a total of $310 SGD. : )

I’m super proud of the giving spirit from the Huatians! And 49Seats picked the Make-A-Wish foundation!

huatchat-donation-to-makeawish

Make-A-Wish is a global foundation with affiliates in many countries, and grants wishes to kids with life-threatening medical conditions between the age of 3 – 18. For the past 11 years, Make-A-Wish Singapore has granted over 1000 wishes, and they believe that it takes away the family and child’s pain temporarily and helps them to look forward to an exciting venture in their life.

I know 49 Seats could have picked any other charity, but this one struck home, because I’m witnessing the pain my dear friend, Anne, has gone through for the past year after her baby was diagnosed with a heart condition since birth, and not just one that could be fixed by surgery (how we wished it was that simple). Guiltily, I haven’t visited much – I am so sorry, AnneAnne! Noah is now ONE, and I hope one day his wish can be fulfilled by the Make-A-Wish foundation too! GO, NOAH!

Please donate or volunteer your time to the Make-A-Wish Singapore foundation if you’d like to this Christmas, and hopefully together, we can put smiles on more children’s faces!

Thank you, 49 Seats and my dearest Huatians for making this
Christmas a fulfilling one (both tummy and heart).

Please do check out 49 Seats’ facebook page to keep yourself updated with their fabulous promos and deals, especially this one for the 24th and 31st december! I hope everyone will have a Merry Christmas!!! <3

Fatboys’ new outlet at MacDonald’s House!

By | Food, Western | No Comments

How do you like your burgers? Oozing with twice the amount of blue cheese, extra tomato, hold the cucumber, two patties (wah!) or replacing the normal Sesame seed bun with something special?

I’ve always been fussy about food – and I’ve never been a burger person – and my first burger love affair wasn’t in America (where I faced a lot of burgers) – but in Singapore, when Vernon (aka Jayne’s husband) extended an invitation to us to try out their customized burger concept in Far East Plaza in collaboration with Fat Boy’s. FOR ONCE I COULD ORDER A BURGER WITHOUT CHESSE. AND TOMATO. AND ONIONS. (Yes I’m that fussy hahaha). That was almost a year ago la.

I’m a bit late (a month to be exact!) so by the time you read this, it’s not new-new but still…

Fatboy’s The Burger Bar opens a new branch
at MacDonald’s House (Dhoby Ghaut)! HOORAY!

and yes. you can also customize your burger at all Fatboys full concept branches!

fat-boys-macdonalds-house-14

Some times I really love blogging and food tasting – especially when it’s done with good company, and when you know that there are no obligations. A couple of us were warmly invited down to the pre-opening food tasting for FBTBB @ MCD House (many thanks to Bernie, Vernon, and Jayne!), and I really had fun that night!

And omg my hair has changed so much in color since a month ago. Whut. It’s like my hair is my own timeline indicator lol.

Tricia!

Tricia!

Trisha!

Trisha!

They are the two most commonly mixed up people in my life hahaha. Whenever I mention either one to the husband he’s like “which one? The  one with the sporty bf or the one with the hairdresser bf?”

I think they're very much eating kakis now... The both of them eat everything.

How to not get photobombed: Don't be near Jayne. HAHAHA. Okay la half of this was posed lol.

Husband photography fail -_-” Focus on the burger, jayne… everything but me. Also, how to not get photobombed: Avoid being near Jayne Tham. HAHAHA. Okay la half of this was posed lol.

But I finally got a nice, clear shot of me and my food! (But not before cropping out a part of Jayne from the sides of the pic lol)

Here’s the link to their website if you’re looking for a full list of the burgers Fatboy’s currently offers!

Casey's Bushtucker.

Bushtucker burger – Beef chuck patty, chewy bacon, melted swiss cheese, beets, topped with wild arugula and garlic aioli on a whole meal bun.

I can't remeber now, but I think this is Wimpy - fat bastard without the double patty, haha. Your choice of patty (beef, pork or lamb) with Chewy Bacon, Cheddar cheese, fried egg and Fatboy's homemade bbq sauce on sesame bun!

My order was Mahalo - bacon stuffed pork patty, caramelised onions, grilled pineapple (YUM!), melted monterey jack cheese and creamy mayo on a sesame seed bun. The pineapple was a tangy addition which complemented the oiliness of the burger well! And I gave all my caramelized onions to Trisha but I enjoyed the residue caramelized sauce with the burger hahaha.

The worst way to eat a burger is through your skirt. HAHA. Poor Tricia got her skirt stained when Jayne had a minor spill : x I also spilt my beer on myself. Haiyo. Don’t wear white when you’re going for burgers!

But it’s okay – that chiobu (pretty girl) still got picked up by a caucasian guy who offered her flowers (plucked from the congratulatory bouquets outside it seems) and his name card, which was for ahem, a certain beverage importer… and that brings us to the drinks available at Fatboy’s!

fat-boys-macdonalds-house-3

It’s a separate menu and hahah I love that skunk drawing! Plenty of drinks and a good range available!

Pince & Pints – the place to go for fresh Boston lobsters!

By | Food, Fusion, Western | No Comments

Conveniently located just across the carpark, Pince & Pints is the new kid on the Duxton Road block, serving you fresh & succulent Boston Lobsters specially flown in and kept in a stress-free environment!

The establishment spans over two units styled like an American diner with its red cushioned seats but with a slightly modern update as the details at the bar’s kept simple – the bar counter’s spacious and the seats are set apart comfortably enough for you in case you need some arm space to tackle your lobster.

The bar is well stocked and they offer a pretty good selection of drinks! I was driving, so I went for the mocktails instead – between the 5 of us, we had Crabbie’s Spiced Orange Ginger Beer, Melon Soda, Freddie Mercury, and the Duxton Mule – every single drink tasted really good and I loved mine especially, which was a mix of Cloudy Apple, Ginger & Mint!

Branding for Pince & Pints’ really pretty and it was made to resemble a lobster cage for the food menu and a lobster crate for the drinks menu!

Despite the extensive drink menu, there are only 3 mains offered when it comes to food – you can choose to have your lobster done either:

  • Live Whole Lobster
(Choice of Grilled or Steamed, comes with Mesclun Salad, Sour Cherry & Balsamic Dressing, Shoestring Fries & Herbed Butter Sauce!)
  • The Lobster Roll
(Comes with Mesclun Salad, Soury Cherry & Balsamic Dresing & Shoestring Fries)
  • Chilli Lobster
(Served in Homemade Fresh Tomato & Chilli Sauce and Fried Mantous on the side)

“Each dish uses 1 whole live wild-caught lobster of approx 600g.”

And no joke. The lobsters were H-U-G-E!

Presentation of the lobster roll probably looks tiny as compared to the the other dishes, but you can be sure that they use the entire lobster in it – this is a good dish to order if you don’t wanna get down and dirty like me.

Grilled or Steamed? Don’t expect the grilled one to be dry – this one was so succulent and juicy that you can see it oozing out as you drive your fork into it. I’m sure the dip was excellent, too!

And my order, the Chilli Lobster.

Everyone kept referring to it as the Chilli Crab by a slip of tongue the entire night because of the sauce it came swimming in – it was the perfect blend of tomato and chilli, not too spicy, but more tomato savoury sweetness which goes so well with the lobster – I guess I’m a very typical Asian – I don’t mind it being a little spicier but why spoil the taste of fresh lobster, right?

pince-and-pints-boston-lobster-singapore-32-33-duxton-road-20

You get 5 mantous on the side for this Chilli Lobster dish which was just the perfect number – AHHHH I MISS IT SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!

I love the sauce so much that I nearly drank the entire claypot bowl of it! By comparison, this one appeared to be the largest and I was thankful for the spacious bar counter which allowed me to comfortably space out my drinks and two side plates without knocking anything over or elbowing my friends as I manoeuvred the lobster!

One more of the lobster roll to show you how packed the roll is with lobster!

The chefs behind your delectable lobsters!

I must say, their service staff were all super smiley and cute – attentive and bright-eyed + eager to help! And thank you so much too, Fred, for making sure that we were well taken care of – and special thanks to Vel for the helping me arrange for seats even though you were really packed! (Man, business’ alraedy good even before the official launch!)

At $48 each dish (before service charge & gst), I find it really well priced for a full sized, wild lobster – and the drinks are not of unreasonable prices, too (our mocktails were all $7)! I can safely speak for all of us when I say that EVERYONE enjoyed the meal, and we’ll definitely be back for more!

Exploring Clarke Quay: Beer Market!

By | Food, Fusion, Western | One Comment

Do you have phases in life where you get hooked onto something and can’t stop doing it?

The keyword for me these 2 months was….

BEER. ビール. 啤酒。

Not sure when but when I feel tremendous stress, I’ll go for a beer. I remember myself desperately seeking Kronenbourg one fine afternoon hahaha and ever since then I’ve been asking for beer quite frequently! I’m not an alcoholic lah, but I realized I’ve turned into my dad (doing the “Yah yah ok” *nonchalant hand wave*)when he nagged at me to drink lesser of such drinks at a Japanese place (eh, it’s draft beer leh, how can don’t drink?).

I was at Clarke Quay’s Food Trail organized by Regent Media a while ago (will blog about it soon!) and Beer Market was one of the bars that was hard to miss… and instantly on my to-go list with more people! I also read about their interesting concept on 8 days a couple of months back and it got me all intrigued. (More about that later!)

That chance came really quickly and it was a gathering between the nuffnang bloggers and the nuffies. I won’t say we’re strangers to hanging out together but it was one of the few firsts meet ups with the nuffies outside of work! (But of course, we had to talk about work la… can’t escape that).

Entrace of Beer Market! It's on the second floor - but you definitely won't miss the huge yellow signs and also the "stock market monitor" outside the entrance!

Live band area - I don't like high stools much so it's nice to know that we are seated comfortably at sectioned side (so you know, it's like a little 包厢 for you and your friends)!

Where we're seated - we reserved a huge ass space for like 15-20 people! This can definitely seat up to 25 pax, no problem!

This cosy corner is just so cute, with the lamposts and all! I'll definitely chope this corner when I come again with lesser peple hahaha.

And at the back, they have a slightly quieter and some what sectioned out area for darts... and also a pool table!

Guess who were the early ones, for once? The two 迟到皇后s of Nuffnang (Bunbun and I la, hahaha) were early for once. Like, almost an entire hour earlier. I think we should have bought toto or 4d that day.

The menu is designed like a newsletter and I presume this gets updated every now and then, with new stock for beer and all!

Some facts about Beer Market:

  • Not your average pub – what makes it different is that the prices of the beers are volatile. That’s right – like what the name indicates, it fluctuates like a stock market! More demand = higher price. They have a Beer Market Exchange (BMX) where prices of the beers go up (green) or down (red) and the prices are refreshed every hour on their screens! White = usual prices, so you buy when it’s in the red and wait it out when it’s green!
  • They serve ALL kinds of beers from many DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. So if you have a friend who likes Erdinger, another one who likes Tiger, some that like San Miguel and others who like Carlsberg… you can find them all in one place – Beer Market! (Usually where you see APB beers you won’t see others!)

An example of the quirky and cool beers, like…

Banana Bread Beer (really tastes like banana omg), Double Chocolate Stout (a favorite amongst some nuffies, they are stout drinkers wtf), Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale (interesting) and my very safe Peach Beer, hahaha.

Being the adventurous souls we are we got a round of these interesting beers and every one tried them! It’s rather fun if you have a huge group of people to do this beer tasting thing with you – and then you just order more if you like it!

Honestly I couldn’t really grasp the beer market rates (was squinting so hard at the screens and listening to the waitress intently) but that’s why I’m a designer and not working in the finance industry hahaha.

Beer Market is rather cold (thank god I bought a new sweater just before we went to Beer Market) especially at the area we were seated at!

早到的鸟儿有虫吃!Amongst the first to arrive were actually the bloggers, ahahahha. Juli (bunbunmakeuptips), Jayne (jaynetham.com), Valerie and I! Our favorite blogger Yina Goh was noticeably absent and missed. Every time she’s not with me I get bombarded with “where is your girlfriend / partner / yina goh”. Yes, “your”! People also got boyfriend to spend time with lei, don’t like that! haha.

Wish she was with us though, because there was a live band on going and it was Ground Zero, who used to play at another place Yina sometimes get singing gigs at.

And oooooh, the pizzas!

And oooooh, the pizzas! We had both the Salted Egg Sea Food Pizza (S$21.90) and Chicken Rice (S$17.90) one. The Seafood one came with crabmeat, tiger prawns and fish chunks on a salted egg yolk base! It was a most interesting western dish… with an asian twist. The chicken rice pizza was literally chicken and rice on a pastry base. It wasted pretty much like chicken rice except for the piece of crust, haha.

The food at BM was surprisingly good – I guess everyone expected this to be your regular pub with the normal pub grub but you’ll be in for a surprised if you thought that way! They have really decent food offerings and even have revamped their menu recently to include Tze Char – I wish I tried the Midnight Rice and all the other local food in the menu!

This place exceeded my expectations (and so did the turnout for the gathering!) and every one thought that the food was really good! Favorite picks of the night would have to be the salted egg pizza, the luncheon fries and magic mushrooooooooms. Wished I had more stomach space to down more food!

They also have a Happy Hungry Hour, where you can get selected dishes for special prices!

Cheers to making new friends!
Eve, Evonne (me la!), Valerie, Eileen, Iris & Meiting!

(It’s quite interesting how we all knew each other, haha. Eve, Iris and Eileen are secondary school friends and I got to know Eve online (mIRC anyone? LOL) – we became fast friends when we met and I’ve been stealing her friends and hers mine ever since. Okay la kidding! I’m grateful to have a friend who is so sociable and open to knowing more people). Valerie is my primary school mate (already taller than me by a whole head when we were 10) and Meiting for some reason knows me and Eve at separate times – erm, her brother knew both our exes (who are not friends with each other) haha. COMPLICATED. But whatever, we get along just fine, hor Miss Lian?)

Nuffnang Bloggers + Nuffies!

Nuffnang Bloggers + Nuffies! (Some left earlier)

And I have to thank Nuffnang for expanding my social circle. You really don’t know how fun this group can be until you start drinking with them lol (ahem Gwen…).

Without Nuffnang I guess I wouldn’t be so super close to the other fellow Nuffnang bloggers, and then also get “reunited” some!

I guess belonging to a family (calling them an agency is too cold!) makes things very very different! Earning money is one thing, gaining good friends and real friendships are more important to me cos these cannot be bought!

It was a good night out with everyone, really thankful for the great turnout (machiam like birthday party hahaha) and let’s do this again real soon, okay? ; )
