Is there anyone who doesn’t like facial masks?

I know it’s good for me, but I just get so lazy sometimes.

But whenever I do apply a mask, I’ll arrange an entire pampering session around it. Maybe a foot scrub. Or a body scrub. Best time is when I’m in a hot water bath!

The thing about doing something while wearing a mask, is that masks sometimes tend to fall off or just slide off you. And the cotton sheet masks sometimes dry up so quickly!

So the first time I tried a hydrogel mask, I fell in love.

I love the way the way it hugged my face better than a sheet mask. I love how I could run about doing things without worrying about it falling off – it adheres well to your skin, and doesn’t dry out as fast as a cotton sheet mask would either!

That was why I accepted Faith In Face’s advertorial, and I was really looking forward to trying out the masks for a review!

(In fact, I’m in Japan at time of writing and guess what I’m doing to beat the cold winds of Tokyo? Using a Faith In Face mask of course!)

Faith in Face masks were first launched in 2012, and by the time they arrived in Singapore in October 2015, have already reached No. 1 status in Korea!

The masks were developed by a multi-national team of young cosmetic experts from Korea, Britain & Canada after 3 years of research and development, and only uses organic, naturally derived extracts such as vegetable collagen, essential oils, vitamin E & hyaluronic acid. Free of parabens & mineral oil, these masks deliver high percentage of water soluble ingredients for maximum hydration & superior skin rejuvenation.

Unlike regular microfiber and cotton sheet masks, Faith in Face’s hydrogel masks contain a high percentage of water soluble ingredients to deliver maximal hydration and superior skin rejuvenation. With a gentle formula that is suitable for sensitive skin, the hydrogel masks are also able to cool the skin, thanks to beta-glucans which rejuvenate stressed out skin.”

The Faith in Face hydrogel masks come in 5 types addressing different concerns –

  • After Shower Look Hydrogel Mask
Soothing and moisturizing with Sodium PCA & Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate, and Camelia Oil to lock moisture in.
  • Hold Me Tight Hydrogel Mask
Copper Tripeptide, Rooibos extract and Red Ginseng firms & lifts the skin.
  • Black & White Film Star Hydrogel Mask
Brightening mask with Arbutin, Niacinamide and Citrus Unshiu Pericarp & Green Tea extract
  • Miss Invisible Pore Hydrogel Mask
A pore tightening mask with Salicylic Acid to reduce sebum, peppermint extract to cleanse and natural astringents such as Chestnut Shell extract & Witch Hazel!
  • Nourish Me Hydrogel Mask
Contains Ceramide 3 with Broccoli Extract & Olive oil, providing the ultimate nourishment for your skin.

The masks come in boxes and there are 3 pieces in each box. Upon opening, I was surprised to find that they’re separated into 2 pieces (top half of face, and bottom half of the face), which means it’ll be a better fit on the face!

(I have a shorter face, so it’s pretty annoying for me when masks are too long – this is perfect for me!)Upon removing the hydrogel mask from the packet, you’ll find that it is sandwiched between two sheets for protection – one thick plastic sheet, and a softer one.

You might wonder, which side is up and the side to place on your face? The answer: Remove the softer sheet, and place the smooth side of the hydrogel mask on your face!

This is the smooth side of the mask which meets your face – the bumpy side is on the outside!

I like applying the bottom half of the mask first.

Adjust the mask till it fits well on the bottom half of your face.

See how it hugs the face? I love it! It doesn’t really slip off nor does it crinkle on my face like some of the sheet masks do.

Personally, I really think this is worth a try, especially if you love applying masks! It’s definitely something you can add to your routine. Just try it – I guarantee that you’ll love it as much as I did!

They say that in order to form a new good habit, you have to do that thing continuously for approximately 18 – 66 days.

Ever since the day the masks arrived, I’ve been trying to leave myself constant reminders on how to keep my skin moisturised. I left little post-it notes that screams “MASK!” on it and they’re stuck on everywhere – near my computer, my toilet, my mirrors… And I’m pretty sure that habit’s gonna be easy to form, since I love the masks so much!

So far, so good – my skin loves the hydrogel masks, especially during winter in cold countries! Love how bouncy and supple it is right after masking!

I love the masks so much that it’s hard to pick just one to ask you to try – thankfully, they’re just $14.50 for a box of 3 pieces, available exclusively at Watsons at the moment!
