What? Another Naked palette?
Just when you thought that you’ve had enough of Urban Decay’s palettes… they come out with yet another irresistible one.
Enter the Naked Smoky Palette – 12 beautiful shades ranging from the warms, cools, to the neutrals!
“The key to nailing the most sought-after and elusive eye look ever? Naked Smoky—loaded with ALL the essentials you need for the perfect neutral smoky eye. A true range of shades. The perfect brushes. And detailed tutorials.”
I know, I know. Do we all really need another one?
If you are looking to do comparisons, or if you have yet to even own a single 1 of these Naked palettes, then you’re at the right place. Swatches coming right up to help you decide on a palette – and if I’m able to, sway you towards buying the Naked Smoky, because honestly, I only own the Naked 3, and the Naked Smoky is such a well balanced palette that I would have headed out to purchase it if it wasn’t given to me.
So here you go, swatches and comparisons of all the Naked 12-pan palettes!
Off the bat, you can see that Naked Smoky is just a little different from her other siblings – she appears to be much more pigmented, offers a better range of shades (naked 3 is basically a palette of warm-hued eyeshadows), and also seems to be placed a little differently – instead of going from the lightest to the darkest shades, the darkest shades are now in the middle of the palette, so you can start working your way in from either the left or the right side of the palette for your ideal smoky eyes!
The double-ended brush included in Naked Smoky was catered for a specific purpose – to create smoky looks easily – has a tapered crease end on one side, and a smudger brush on the other.
These are a great add on for the ones unclear of how to tackle smoky looks, but I find video tutorials most helpful! There’s a list of them below ; )
Before we start, I’ll like to say that all swatches are done both WITH and WITHOUT primer. I’m using Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden here, which is a nude matte shade.
You might have noticed that this Primer Potion packaging looks a little different. Well, it’s the new one!
Previously when it was just in a tube with a wand, people complained.
When it was a squeeze tub, people complained still.
So now we have the best of both worlds, the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion now comes in a packaging that features BOTH a SQUEEZE TUBE and an applicator wand. I hope everyone’s happy now, hahaha.
Alrightttt let’s get going with the arm swatches!
Urban Decay Naked Palette 1
The palette that started it all. Coveted by many, it’s actually pretty well-balanced a palette too, and also the most similar to the Naked Smoky!
Urban Decay Naked Palette 2
The 2nd palette which got the beauty world abuzz with everyone doing comparisons of Naked 1 and Naked 2. Till date, there are still many undecided between them both!
Urban Decay Naked Palette 3
This palette – my very first Naked Palette – is oh so pretty! It was completely different from Naked 1 & 2 as it offered warmer, more wearable hues. Did a post on this, you can read that here.
P.S. Not sure why the swatches look so different from then and now, but in anycase, just use primer lor.

Here’s a look I did with the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette for an evening out with the girls! I do like making up for special occasions – what’s the point of having all these glorious make up lying around, right? Hehe.
Here’s the list of Urban Decay products I have on my face for the above look:

And another simpler, everyday look you can achieve with the palette (I didn’t use primer for this one):
I’m sorry I don’t have a tutorial for you, but if you are looking for tutorials, here are some helpful videos online! There are plenty actually, but these are some of my faves (and asian ones that you guys can relate to):
